Advertising/Sponsorship Policy

Advertising helps make it possible for PracticeWire® to provide high quality health information at no cost to our participating practices. The terms “advertisement,” “ad,” “advertising” and “sponsorship” refer to on-screen sponsor messages, banners, sponsored content and other promotions for which PracticeWire receives compensation. This includes advertising on screens, this website and in our newsletters.

Advertising Guidelines

Ads are distinct and separate from editorial content. Advertisers will not influence editorial direction (see our Editorial Policy.)

PracticeWire has sole discretion for determining the types of advertising accepted and displayed. Acceptance of any advertisement should not be considered an endorsement of the products(s), services(s) or company by PracticeWire, by the physicians who use PracticeWire products in their offices or by PracticeWire content partners and medical reviewers. Ads may link from PracticeWireOnline.com to a website maintained by the advertiser — PracticeWire is not responsible for content on these third-party websites.

Advertisements must be appropriate and tasteful, as deemed by PracticeWire. We maintain the right to remove an ad for any reason, upon providing notice to the advertiser.

PracticeWire retains the sole discretion to accept or refuse advertisements. We will NOT accept advertising for:

  • Alcohol or related products
  • Tobacco or related products
  • Pornography (or depicting pornography)
  • Firearms or weapons
  • Gambling or related activities
  • Ads for fireworks
  • Legal (including malpractice)
  • Political, religious or social causes

PracticeWire will also NOT accept ads that:

  • Ridicule or attack a person or group of people on the basis of race, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation or disability
  • Deceptively attempt to make a user click the ad unit by mimicking computer functions or other means

Advertisers are responsible for complying with all applicable foreign and domestic laws, including regulations set forth by government agencies and other regulatory bodies. In particular, pharmaceutical advertising to physicians and consumers must comply with FDA guidelines as they related to direct to physician (DTP) and direct to consumer (DTC) advertising practices.

Sponsored Content

PracticeWire may accept sponsorship of content or resources from organizations or companies interested in providing health and wellness information to the public.

The sponsor will be responsible for the accuracy and objectivity of the sponsored content and may have created, provided or influenced the creation of the sponsored content. Although sponsored content is governed by the standards set forth in the Advertising Policy, it is not held to the standards set forth in the Editorial Policy.
